Now Foods Garcinia is a food supplement in which each tablet contains 1 g (1,000 mg) of Garcinia cambogia fruit extract. The extract is standardised to a minimum of 50% hydroxycitric acid (HCA), so each tablet provides at least 500 mg of hydroxycitric acid. Hydroxycitric acid is an organic acid found naturally in the fruit of Garcinia cambogia, also known as Malabar tamarind. The extract also provides calcium: according to the EU label, one tablet contains 180 mg of calcium from the extract, which is 23% of the nutrient reference value for calcium.
