What is OstroVit Glucomannan Plus?

OstroVit Glucomannan Plus is a food supplement with 14 active ingredients, built around glucomannan from konjac root – a water-soluble fibre with strong water-binding properties. Alongside glucomannan the complex contains L-carnitine tartrate, green tea, guarana seed and green coffee bean extracts, horsetail, grape seed and licorice root extracts, Ceylon cinnamon bark, selenium, kelp extract, riboflavin, chromium and vitamin B12, all in easy-to-swallow vegetable capsules.

The pack contains 180 capsules. One serving is 2 capsules and the recommendation is 3 servings a day before meals, so the jar lasts 30 days. The daily dose provides 3000 mg of glucomannan, 477 mg of L-carnitine and 69 mg of caffeine.

How does glucomannan work?

In the context of an energy-restricted diet, glucomannan contributes to weight loss. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of glucomannan in three doses of 1 g each, together with 1–2 glasses of water, before meals and in the context of an energy-restricted diet. Glucomannan is also a prebiotic fibre. That is why each serving should be taken before a meal with plenty of water, so the fibre reaches the stomach and swells there.

The active ingredients in detail

The green tea leaf extract is standardised to 50% polyphenols, the guarana seed extract to 22% caffeine and the green coffee bean extract to 50% chlorogenic acid and 2% caffeine – the green coffee beans are unroasted. The horsetail extract contains 7% silica, the grape seed extract 95% proanthocyanidins and the licorice root extract 20% glycyrrhizic acid. The kelp extract provides 100 µg of iodine a day. L-carnitine is a compound formed from the amino acids lysine and methionine, also found in meat, fish and dairy products.

Who is it for?

For adults following an energy-restricted diet who want to support it with glucomannan, and for those who prefer a multi-ingredient complex to separate products. As the product contains caffeine and green tea extract, it is not suitable for people under 18 or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not take it on an empty stomach.
