BiotechUSA Hyper Mass – protein and carbohydrate drink powder with creatine

BiotechUSA Hypermass 5000 is a flavoured drink powder that contains protein, carbohydrates and creatine. The manufacturer now sells the product under the name Hyper Mass (4000 g). One 65 g serving provides 20 g of protein, 38 g of carbohydrate, 5.4 g of fibre and 2.9 g of creatine, with 1076 kJ / 254 kcal of energy per serving. The recommended daily amount is two servings, i.e. 130 g of powder.

The carbohydrates come from maltodextrin and native waxy maize, the protein from whey protein concentrate, milk protein concentrate, calcium caseinate and whey protein isolate. According to the label, the product is a source of fibre (8.3 g of fibre per 100 g) and gluten free (no more than 20 mg of gluten per kilogram of product). The pack contains 4000 g of powder, i.e. 61 servings.

Composition and nutritional value

The largest part of Hyper Mass is maltodextrin (45–49% depending on the flavour). The powder also contains 7% inulin, 5% native waxy maize and 5% micronized creatine monohydrate. 100 g of powder provides 30 g of protein, 58.5 g of carbohydrate, of which 7.6 g sugars, 8.3 g of fibre and 2.2 g of fat. The powder is sweetened with sucralose.

• Fibre – 5.4 g per serving; the ingredients include 7% inulin.
• Creatine – 3.25 g of micronized creatine monohydrate per serving (2.9 g of creatine), 6.5 g per daily amount (5.7 g of creatine).
• Energy – 1076 kJ / 254 kcal per serving, 2152 kJ / 508 kcal per daily amount.
• Gluten free – no more than 20 mg of gluten per 1 kg of product.

Protein and creatine

The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of creatine. The recommended daily amount – two servings (130 g) – provides 5.7 g of creatine. The claim is intended for adults performing high-intensity exercise.

How to use?

Mix 1 serving (65 g, i.e. 2 scoops) of powder with 450 ml of water in a shaker bottle and shake until smooth. On training days, drink one serving in the morning and another immediately after training. On rest days, drink one serving in the morning and another in the evening. The daily amount is two servings, i.e. 130 g of powder.

Keep the pack tightly closed in a cool, dry place. The best before date (day/month/year) is printed in the white field of the label (LOT/EXP).

Who is it for?

Hyper Mass is suitable for adults who train regularly at high intensity and want to get protein, carbohydrates and creatine from a single drink. The product contains milk and soy, so it is not suitable for people allergic to them. The flavourings of the Cookies & Cream flavour contain caffeine, so this flavour is not recommended for children or pregnant women. The Vanilla and Strawberry flavours contain colours that may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children. The drink powder is a convenient addition to regular food, but it does not replace a varied and balanced diet.

• Strawberry – with citric acid, colour Allura Red AC; 47% maltodextrin.
• Cookies & Cream – with grated chocolate and cinnamon; the flavourings contain caffeine; 47% maltodextrin.
• Salted Caramel – 0.93% salt, colour ammonia caramel; 49% maltodextrin.

The composition and nutritional values of these five flavours are given according to the EU label; the nutrition information is the same for all five. Sportlab also sells the Raspberry-Yogurt, Caramel Cappuccino and Hazelnut flavours – there is no current manufacturer label for them and their composition may differ slightly, so please check the ingredients, allergens and warnings on the packaging.
