Amix Micellar Casein is a powdered food supplement based on milk protein concentrate. It contains micellar casein and whey protein in the same ratio as skimmed milk, 80:20. One serving (44 g, or one maximally heaped scoop) provides 35.4 g of protein and 159 kcal, with 0.9 g of fat and 2.1 g of sugars. On a dry basis, 100 g of powder contains 80 g of protein. The pack contains 1000 g of powder, which is enough for 22 servings. The product is sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame K and contains no aspartame. Sportlab offers four flavours: chocolate, strawberry, vanilla and forest fruits. The manufacturer recommends drinking the shake preferably before sleep, but it can also be used at other times of the day when you want to add protein to your diet.

One serving provides 35.4 g of protein and 902 mg of calcium, which is 113% of the NRV for calcium. Protein provides close to 90% of the energy content of the product.

How to use?

Mix one maximally heaped scoop (44 g) of powder with 250–300 ml of cold water or low-fat milk. Use a shaker or blender and mix for about 30 seconds until smooth. The manufacturer recommends drinking the shake preferably before sleep. You can change the flavour and sweetness with the amount of water: less water gives a sweeter, richer taste, more water a lighter one. If you prepare the shake with milk, the energy and nutrients of the milk are added too. The recommended daily dose is one serving – do not exceed it.

Amix Micellar Casein is suitable for adults who want to add protein to their diet – for example people who train regularly and find it hard to get enough protein from food, or those who prefer a light, protein-rich drink in the evening. As the shake is prepared with water or low-fat milk, you can adjust its energy content yourself. The product contains milk and soy, so it is not suitable for people with a milk protein or soy allergy. Ingredients and flavours

The main ingredient is milk protein concentrate containing 80% micellar casein and 20% whey protein. Micellar casein is a form of casein that occurs naturally in milk. The powder also contains flavouring, the stabiliser sodium carboxymethylcellulose, the emulsifier soy lecithin, an enzyme complex (amylase, lipase, lactase, cellulase and bacterial neutral protease) and the sweeteners sucralose and acesulfame K. The flavours differ slightly in composition: cocoa powder is added to the chocolate flavour and beetroot juice to the strawberry and forest fruits flavours, while the vanilla flavour contains neither. According to the manufacturer, 100 g of pure protein contains on average 9.6 g of leucine, 5.3 g of isoleucine, 8.4 g of valine and 21.6 g of glutamine (calculated from the glutamic acid content). The product is made in a facility that also processes ingredients containing eggs, gluten, fish, tree nuts, peanuts and crustaceans. Keep the pack in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, away from sunlight.
