Now Foods Maca Raw is a food supplement in vegetable capsules, each containing 750 mg of raw maca root (Lepidium meyenii) concentrate. What is maca?

Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a plant of the cabbage family and thus a relative of cabbage, radish and turnip. It grows at high elevations in the Andes of South America, especially in central Peru, where it has been cultivated as food for centuries. The part used as food is the tuber-like root of the plant. In this product the maca root is gelatinized – a completely vegetarian process that removes starch from maca to yield a more concentrated product. How to use?
