Mutant Mass XXXTREME 2500 (Mutant Mass Extreme 2500 on the EU label) is a food supplement in powder form from the Canadian sports nutrition brand Mutant, containing whey protein and a carbohydrate blend. It is intended for people with very high daily energy needs. The recommended daily dose is 4 scoops or 285 g of powder, which provides 1070 kcal (4480 kJ) of energy, 231 g of carbohydrates, 30 g of protein and 2.5 g of fat. The 5.45 kg bag contains 19 daily doses. The product is made in Canada.

Carbohydrate blend, three whey proteins and MCT oil

The carbohydrates come from maltodextrin, waxy maize starch, rice and sweet potato; the Cookies & Cream and Triple Chocolate flavours also contain fermented pea starch. The protein comes from three whey proteins: whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate and hydrolysed whey protein. The lipid blend consists of fractionated coconut oil (MCT), avocado and pumpkin seed. The powder also contains an enzyme blend (lactase and protease, 25 mg per daily dose), cinnamon and tart cherry, and is sweetened with sucralose.

According to the label, the daily dose provides 12.8 g of essential amino acids as part of the protein, including 3.1 g of leucine, 2 g of isoleucine and 1.6 g of valine, as well as 5 g of glutamine and glutamic acid. These amino acids are natural constituents of whey protein, not separately added substances.

The daily dose contains 150 mg of calcium, or 19% of the nutrient reference value.

How to use?

The daily dose is 285 g or 4 scoops of powder. In a blender, mix the dose with 480 ml of cold water, milk or another drink; in a shaker, use up to 720 ml of liquid so that the powder mixes more easily. For a thinner drink, add more liquid. Always pour the liquid into the container first and then add the powder.

Who is it for?

Mutant Mass XXXTREME 2500 is suitable for adults with very high daily energy needs – for example, people who train a lot and regularly and find it hard to get enough energy from regular meals. One daily dose provides roughly half of an average adult's daily energy requirement (2000 kcal), so take this into account when planning the rest of your diet. The product is not recommended for children or pregnant or nursing women. The product contains milk, soy and coconut.

Flavours and pack

The flavours with an EU label are Cookies & Cream, Triple Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream. Triple Chocolate contains cocoa processed with alkali and coffee powder, Cookies & Cream contains cookie crumbs with sugar, and Vanilla Ice Cream contains natural cream flavouring. Store the product in a cool, dry and dark place and do not use it if the bag is torn or open.
