Scitec Nutrition Jumbo – high-energy carbohydrate and protein drink

Scitec Nutrition Jumbo is a flavoured drink powder that combines carbohydrates, protein, creatine, added amino acids and vitamins in a single serving. One 220 g serving (5 scoops) provides 3598 kJ / 849 kcal of energy, 140 g of carbohydrate, 53 g of protein and 3 g of creatine. The pack contains 1320 g of powder, i.e. 6 servings. Three flavours are available: chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. Jumbo is made by the Hungarian sports nutrition and food supplement manufacturer Scitec Nutrition.

The product is intended for people whose daily energy requirement is high and who find it difficult to get that much energy from regular food. The large serving makes it possible to add a significant amount of energy, carbohydrate and protein to the daily diet with a single drink. The protein in Jumbo comes exclusively from animal sources – whey protein concentrate and milk protein concentrate – which contain all the essential amino acids.

Composition and nutritional value

The carbohydrates in Jumbo come from seven sources: maltodextrin, wholegrain oat flour, dextrose, isomaltulose, fructose, corn starch and cyclic dextrin. 100 g of powder contains 64 g of carbohydrate, of which 26 g sugars, 24 g of protein, 3.4 g of fat and 1.9 g of fibre. Amino acids, almond flour and quinoa, goji berry and acai berry powders have also been added to the powder.

• Carbohydrate – 140 g per serving, including 55 g of maltodextrin, 31 g of oat flour, 26 g of dextrose, 22 g of isomaltulose and 8 g of fructose.
• Protein – 53 g per serving from whey protein concentrate and milk protein concentrate.
• Creatine – 3400 mg of creatine monohydrate and micronized creatine monohydrate per serving, of which 3000 mg is creatine.
• Amino acids – 946 mg of L-glutamine, 880 mg of L-arginine and 1000 mg of BCAAs (leucine, valine and isoleucine in a 2:1:1 ratio), plus L-ornithine, L-tyrosine, L-lysine and L-alanine.
• Vitamins – 4.7 mg of pantothenic acid, 1.1 mg of vitamin B6, 100 µg of folic acid and 3.8 µg of vitamin D per serving.
• Other ingredients – 2200 mg of almond flour, 1760 mg of quinoa powder, 1210 mg of goji berry powder, 594 mg of acai berry powder, 132 mg of betaine and 1.75 mg of BioPerine® black pepper fruit extract.

The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of creatine. The recommended daily amount – one serving (220 g) – provides 3 g of creatine. The claim is intended for adults performing high-intensity exercise.

How to use?

Mix one serving (220 g, i.e. 5 scoops) of powder with 400 ml of water and shake in a shaker until smooth. On training days, drink one serving after training or between meals; on rest days, drink it between meals. The manufacturer recommends one serving per day. With daily use, the 1320 g pack lasts 6 days.

Who is it for?

Jumbo is suitable for adults who train regularly at high intensity and whose energy and nutrient requirements are so high that they are difficult to meet with regular food. As one serving provides almost 850 kcal, the product is primarily suited to those who want to add a lot of energy to their daily diet. Jumbo contains milk, soy, oats (gluten) and almonds, so it is not suitable for people who are allergic to them or sensitive to gluten. The drink powder is a convenient addition to regular food, but it does not replace a varied and balanced diet.

All three flavours have the same nutritional value. Each flavour contains 1.5% creatine monohydrate, 0.1% micronized creatine monohydrate and 0.06% betaine, as well as vitamins D and B6, pantothenic acid and folic acid.
