Dorian Yates METABOLIC MASS GAINER is a food supplement in powder form that combines carbohydrates, a protein blend from several sources, creatine monohydrate, an amino acid complex and a vitamin and mineral complex. What does the daily dose contain?

Most of the carbohydrates come from dextrose and maltodextrin, with fructose also included. The protein part consists of whey protein concentrate, milk protein concentrate, calcium caseinate and hydrolysed beef protein isolate. Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) from coconut oil are used as the fat source.

According to the EU label of the Chocolate flavour, a 150 g daily dose provides 4238 mg of creatine monohydrate, of which 3726 mg is creatine, and 3381 mg of an amino acid complex. This includes 1000 mg of BCAAs in a 2:1:1 ratio (500 mg L-leucine, 250 mg L-isoleucine and 250 mg L-valine) and 1220 mg of an A-AKG complex (809 mg L-arginine and 411 mg calcium alpha-ketoglutarate). The amino acid complex also contains micronised L-glutamine, L-lysine, L-citrulline DL-malate and L-methionine. The Cookies & Cream label lists creatine in the same amount.

How to use?

Mix one serving (150 g, or 2 measuring scoops) with 400 ml of cold water and shake or blend until smooth. As a food supplement, take one serving per day. Full directions and warnings are given separately.

Who is it for?

The product is intended for adults who train regularly at high intensity and want to complement their diet with carbohydrates, protein and creatine in a single drink. The creatine claim is aimed specifically at adults performing high-intensity exercise. As the product contains caffeine and green tea extract, it is not recommended for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women. The product contains milk and may contain soy, egg and nuts.

Creatine and other added ingredients

Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g of creatine – the recommended daily dose of this product (150 g) contains 3726 mg of creatine.

In addition, the daily dose contains 105 mg of L-carnitine, 27 mg of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), 51 mg of green tea leaf extract (of which 49 mg polyphenols), 5 mg of Panax ginseng root extract (1 mg ginsenosides), 3.50 mg of Tribulus terrestris fruit extract (3.30 mg saponins) and small amounts of green coffee bean extract, alpha-lipoic acid and chromium picolinate. The amounts of vitamins and minerals are not stated on the EU label.
