Nutrex HMB 1000 – calcium HMB in vegetable capsules

Nutrex HMB 1000 is a food supplement containing calcium beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate, or calcium HMB for short. Each two-capsule serving provides 1000 mg of calcium HMB, which also gives the product its name. The recommended daily dose is 6 capsules, i.e. 3000 mg of calcium HMB containing 405 mg of calcium – 51% of the nutrient reference value. The bottle contains 120 capsules, which last 20 days with the recommended use. The brand owner is the American supplement manufacturer Nutrex, and according to the EU label the country of origin is the United States.

What is HMB?

HMB, or beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate, is a compound formed in small amounts in the human body when the essential amino acid leucine is broken down. Very small amounts are also found in some foods, but in food supplements HMB is usually used as a calcium salt. Calcium HMB is a stable powder that is easy to divide precisely into capsules.

As the HMB in this product is bound to calcium, the recommended daily dose also gives you 405 mg of calcium. Besides calcium HMB, the capsule contains the anti-caking agents magnesium salts of fatty acids and silicon dioxide, as well as microcrystalline cellulose and cellulose gel. The capsule shell is of plant origin.

How to use?

Take 2 capsules three times a day, so that the daily dose is 6 capsules in total. On training days, take one two-capsule serving about an hour before working out. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. If you also use other food supplements containing HMB or calcium, take their amounts into account. One bottle lasts 20 days.
