Now Foods Iron Complex Caps is a food supplement that combines iron, vitamin B12, folate and vitamin C with two botanical ingredients – dong quai root and red raspberry leaf – in one vegetarian capsule. One capsule provides 27 mg of iron from ferrous bisglycinate (Ferrochel™), which is 193% of the nutrient reference value for iron; according to NOW Foods, the capsule contains 135 mg of ferrous bisglycinate. The capsule also contains 50 µg of vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin (2000%), 90 mg of vitamin C as ascorbic acid (113%) and folate in the form of 100 µg (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, known under the Quatrefolic® trademark. The daily dose is one capsule and the pack contains 100 capsules, so one bottle lasts for 100 days.

How to use?

Take one capsule a day with a meal and swallow it with a glass of water or another drink. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. If you also take other food supplements containing iron, vitamin B12, folate or vitamin C, such as multivitamins, add up the amounts of these nutrients. Accidental iron overdose is particularly dangerous for young children, so always keep the bottle out of the reach of children. After opening, close the bottle tightly and store it in a cool, dry place.

Now Foods Iron Complex Caps is intended for adults only who want to supplement their daily diet with iron, vitamin B12, folate and vitamin C. We get iron from food, for example from meat products, fish, legumes and wholegrain products, vitamin B12 mainly from foods of animal origin, folate from green leafy vegetables and vitamin C from fruit and vegetables. The capsule shell is made of cellulose and the product contains no animal ingredients, so according to the manufacturer it is also suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Ingredients, quality and storage

Besides the nutrients and botanical ingredients, the capsule contains microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide and stearic acid of vegetable origin; the capsule shell is made of hypromellose. Dong quai (Angelica sinensis) is a plant of the carrot family growing in China, whose rhizome and root are used in dried form; the red raspberry (Rubus idaeus) leaves come from the well-known berry bush. The product is made without wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish and tree nuts, but the same GMP facility also processes raw materials containing these allergens.
