OstroVit Pharma Ferr Aid – iron with vitamins C, B6, B12 and folate

OstroVit Pharma Ferr Aid is a food supplement in capsule form that combines five nutrients in a single capsule: iron, vitamin C, vitamin B6, folate and vitamin B12. One capsule provides 30 mg of iron (214% of the NRV), 240 mg of vitamin C (300%), 6 mg of vitamin B6 (429%), 800 µg of folate (400%) and 50 µg of vitamin B12 (2000%). The recommended daily dose is one capsule, and the pack contains 60 capsules – enough for two months. Iron is provided as iron(II) bisglycinate, vitamin B6 as pyridoxal 5’-phosphate, folate as calcium L-methylfolate and vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin. The capsule shell is made from plant-based HPMC, and according to the manufacturer the product is vegan. Ferr Aid is made by the Polish company OstroVit.

Iron and vitamins

Iron is a mineral found both in foods of animal origin, such as meat and fish, and in plant foods, such as beans, nuts and soy. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that the body cannot produce itself, while vitamin B6, folate and vitamin B12 belong to the B-group vitamins. Vitamin B12 occurs naturally mainly in foods of animal origin. One capsule of Ferr Aid provides all five nutrients:

How to use?

Take one capsule a day after a meal with plenty of water. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. If you also use a multivitamin or other food supplements containing iron, vitamin C or B vitamins, take their amounts into account too. Taking the capsule at the same time every day, for example after breakfast or lunch, helps you remember it. At the recommended use, one pack lasts 60 days.
