Applied Nutrition Hydration+ is a food supplement in powder form with electrolytes, vitamins, coconut water powder and taurine, packed in handy 8 g stick packs. The box contains seven sticks, which is a seven-day supply. One stick provides 403 mg of potassium, 380 mg of calcium, 133 mg of magnesium, 153 mg of sodium and 120 mg of chloride. It also contains seven vitamins – vitamin C, vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12, niacin and pantothenic acid – each at 100% of the NRV. Every stick also provides 2000 mg of coconut water powder, 2000 mg of taurine, 1000 mg of Aquamin™, which according to the manufacturer is a marine mineral complex, and 200 mg of Irish sea moss extract. The powder is mixed into water to make a blue raspberry flavoured drink. The product contains a sweetener, sucralose. It is developed by the British brand Applied Nutrition.

One stick provides 48% of the NRV for calcium, 35% for magnesium, 20% for potassium and 15% for chloride. No NRV has been established for sodium.

How to use?

Add the contents of one stick to 200–500 ml of room-temperature water and mix thoroughly before drinking. You can adjust the strength of the flavour with the amount of water: less water gives a fuller taste, more water a lighter one. Do not use more than one stick per day. The slim stick fits easily into a gym bag, pocket or travel bag, so you can prepare the drink away from home – at the gym, at work or when travelling. Do not use the product if the sachet is torn. If you take other food supplements containing vitamins or minerals on the same day, take their amounts into account too.

Ingredients and quality

The electrolytes come from potassium citrate, magnesium citrate and bisglycinate, calcium bisglycinate, sodium citrate and pink Himalayan crystal salt; the formula also contains coconut water powder and Aquamin™.
