BSN AMINOx is a food supplement in powder form that you mix into a flavoured amino acid drink. One 14.5 g serving contains a 10 g amino acid blend: the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) L-leucine, L-valine and L-isoleucine in a 2:1:1 ratio, plus L-alanine, taurine and L-citrulline. Each serving also provides 12.5 µg of vitamin D, which is 250% of the nutrient reference value. The product is caffeine-free, with less than 1 g of carbohydrates and 0 g of sugars per serving. The 435 g container holds 30 servings, and the powder is sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame K.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that the body obtains from food and that the skin produces when exposed to sunlight. In food it is found mainly in oily fish, egg yolk and fortified foods. AMINOx contains vitamin D as cholecalciferol (vitamin D3): one serving provides 12.5 µg, which is 250% of the nutrient reference value.

How to use?

Mix one scoop (about 14.5 g) of powder with 180–240 ml of cold water or another drink of your choice and drink it straight away. You can drink it before, during or after your workout. According to the manufacturer, a second serving may be taken during the day, so the daily amount is 1–2 servings. Less water gives a drink with a stronger flavour. Do not exceed the recommended daily amount and take into account other food supplements you use at the same time, especially those containing vitamin D.

As the product contains no caffeine, it also suits evening workouts and people who already use other caffeinated products and do not want to increase their caffeine intake. The low carbohydrate content makes it a suitable choice for those who watch their sugar intake. The manufacturer does not recommend the product during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Ingredients and flavours

The main part of the product is the 10 g amino acid blend, in which the BCAAs, taurine and L-citrulline are micronised, that is, finely ground. The second, 2 g Effersorb™ blend consists of citric acid, malic acid and sodium bicarbonate and also contains vitamin D3. Because of the sodium bicarbonate, a serving contains 170 mg of sodium. Flavourings give the powder its taste, silicon dioxide prevents caking and sunflower and/or soy lecithin is used as an emulsifier, so the product contains soy. The blue raspberry flavour is coloured with brilliant blue FCF (E133), the fruit punch flavour with beetroot juice powder and Allura Red AC (E129), and the watermelon flavour with beetroot juice powder.
