Nutrend Citrulline Malate is a food supplement in powder form whose only ingredient is L-citrulline DL-malate in a 2:1 ratio. This means that two thirds of the powder weight is L-citrulline and one third is DL-malate, a salt of malic acid. One 3 g daily dose provides 2 g of citrulline. No flavourings, sweeteners or colours are added, so the powder can be mixed with water or another drink and the taste depends on the drink you choose. The 300 g pack contains 100 daily doses. Citrulline malate

L-citrulline is an amino acid that the human body also produces itself, but it is not one of the building blocks of proteins. It is named after the Latin name of the watermelon genus, as citrulline was first isolated from watermelon, where it occurs naturally. Malate is a salt of malic acid, which is found naturally in many fruits, such as apples. In citrulline malate, these two compounds are combined in a fixed ratio.

The 2:1 ratio means that every 100 g of powder contains 66.67 g of citrulline. The 3 g daily dose therefore provides 2 g of citrulline and about 1 g of malate. Knowing the exact ratio is useful if you want to calculate your citrulline intake precisely and compare the content of different products.

How to use?

Mix one daily dose, i.e. 3 g of powder (about half a scoop), with 100–200 ml of water or another drink and drink it about 30 minutes before training. Take no more than one dose a day and do not exceed the recommended daily dose. The powder mixes most easily in a shaker or when stirred with a spoon for a while. As the product is unflavoured, you can choose the drink to suit your taste – for example water, juice or another drink. If you also use other products containing citrulline, such as pre-workout blends, take their amounts into account too.
