OstroVit Glucosamine + MSM + Chondroitin 150g is an unflavoured powdered food supplement combining glucosamine sulphate, methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), chondroitin sulphate, hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. The recommended daily amount of 3 servings (3 × 2.5 g) provides 1170 mg of glucosamine sulphate (of which 690 mg is glucosamine), 2000 mg of MSM, 500 mg of chondroitin sulphate, 140 mg of hyaluronic acid and 1000 mg of vitamin C, which is 1250% of the nutrient reference value. The package contains 150 g of powder, i.e. 60 servings, which last 20 days with three servings a day. The powder is a convenient choice for those who find it hard to swallow tablets – a serving can simply be mixed with water.

The ingredients in more detail

Glucosamine is an amino sugar derived from glucose that the body also produces itself in small amounts; in this product it is present as glucosamine sulphate. Methylsulfonylmethane, or MSM, is an organic sulphur compound found naturally in both plants and animals that dissolves well in water. Chondroitin belongs to the group of mucopolysaccharides and is present in the product as chondroitin sulphate. Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide belonging to the glycosaminoglycans; the product uses its sodium salt, sodium hyaluronate. Vitamin C, or L-ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin that the body cannot produce itself and that is found, for example, in blackcurrants, strawberries, kiwis, peppers, Brussels sprouts and cabbage. In addition to these substances, the powder contains inulin and bamboo fibre.

Vitamin C

One serving provides 333 mg of vitamin C (416% NRV) and three servings provide 1000 mg of vitamin C (1250% NRV).

How to use?

Mix one serving, i.e. 2.5 g of powder (2.5 scoops), with 100–150 ml of water. Use the 1 ml scoop included in the package. Take 3 servings a day. Three servings are the recommended daily amount, which must not be exceeded. If you also use other products containing vitamin C or glucosamine, take their amounts into account. Store the product in a closed container in a dry place at 15–25 °C, protected from direct sunlight. A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
