Cellucor C4 Original – pre-workout drink powder with caffeine, beta-alanine and creatine

C4 Original is a pre-workout food supplement in powder form from the sports supplement brand Cellucor; it is mixed with water and drunk about half an hour before training. One level scoop (6.6–6.9 g, depending on flavour) contains 150 mg of caffeine, 1600 mg of CarnoSyn® beta-alanine, 1500 mg of micronised creatine monohydrate (of which 1319 mg creatine), 1000 mg of arginine hydrochloride and 200 mg of N-acetyl-L-tyrosine. Each serving also provides vitamin C, niacin, vitamin B6, folic acid and vitamin B12. The container holds 30 servings – the net weight is 198–207 g depending on flavour. The EU version we sell is made in the European Union; the labels of all flavours described here state Belgium as the country of origin.

Vitamins per serving

One serving contains 38 mg of vitamin C (48% of the nutrient reference value), 2.4 mg of niacin (15%), 0.5 mg of vitamin B6 (36%), 100 µg of folic acid (50%) and 1.3 µg of vitamin B12 (52%; 1.25 µg or 50% in the Green Apple flavour). Niacin is present as nicotinamide, vitamin B6 as pyridoxal-5'-phosphate and vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin.

How to use?

Mix one level scoop of powder (the scoop is in the container) with 150–200 ml of water and drink 20–30 minutes before training. The label of some flavours recommends 175 ml of water. Take only one serving per day and do not use the product continuously for more than 8 weeks. As a serving contains 150 mg of caffeine, take coffee, tea, energy drinks and other caffeine-containing products into account – the total from all sources should not exceed 400 mg of caffeine per day.

Who is it for?

C4 Original is intended for healthy adults aged 18 and over who train regularly and prefer a caffeine-containing drink before training. Because of its caffeine content, the product is not recommended for children or pregnant women. If you take medication, have a health condition or are facing surgery, consult a doctor or other health care professional before use. If you also use other products containing caffeine, creatine or vitamins, take their amounts into account.

Available flavours

The C4 Original flavours differ in their flavourings, colours and sweeteners; the amounts of the active ingredients are the same in all flavours (only the Green Apple flavour contains 1.25 µg of vitamin B12). None of the flavour labels described here lists azo dyes. The composition of other flavours may differ slightly – see the packaging.
