OstroVit Folic Acid is a food supplement in tablet form that contains vitamin B9 as folic acid. What are folic acid and folate?

Folic acid is a synthetic form of folate. Folate is a water-soluble B vitamin, also known as vitamin B9. After ingestion, folic acid is converted in the body in several steps into the biologically active forms of folate, including 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). Folate was first isolated from spinach leaves and occurs naturally in many foods – especially dark green leafy vegetables such as kale and parsley, but also Brussels sprouts, legumes, whole grains and offal. Vitamin B9 can also be obtained from foods fortified with folic acid and from food supplements. In the list of ingredients, folic acid appears under its chemical name, pteroylmonoglutamic acid.

How to use?

Take one serving, i.e. 1 tablet a day, before a meal and swallow it with a glass of water. One tablet is also the recommended daily dose, which must not be exceeded. If you also take other food supplements containing folic acid or folate, such as multivitamins, take their amounts into account as well. During pregnancy, the dose of folic acid should be decided by a doctor, so use the product during pregnancy after consulting a doctor. 90 tablets last for 90 days.
