OstroVit Collagen – bovine collagen hydrolysate in tablets

OstroVit Collagen is a food supplement in tablets whose only active ingredient is hydrolysed bovine collagen. One serving of 3 tablets contains 3000 mg of collagen hydrolysate, and the manufacturer recommends two servings a day, which provides a total of 6000 mg of collagen. The pack contains 90 tablets, or 30 servings, which lasts 15 days with recommended use. The tablets are easy to swallow and do not need to be mixed with liquid, which makes them convenient away from home as well. The product is developed and manufactured by the Polish food supplement producer OstroVit.

What is collagen?

Collagen is one of the main structural proteins of the body. It is a natural polymer and an important component of the extracellular matrix in animals. Collagen accounts for about 30% of all proteins in the human body and is found in connective tissue, blood vessels, skin and hair. In the diet, collagen comes for example from animal bones and tendons, and it is also available as a food supplement.

The collagen used in this product is of bovine origin and is hydrolysed, i.e. broken down into smaller peptides. According to the manufacturer, bovine collagen does not have the characteristic odour of fish collagen, which makes it convenient for daily use. No sugar or sweeteners are added to the tablets – apart from collagen, the composition contains only two anti-caking agents.

How to use?

Take one serving (3 tablets) twice a day between meals. The daily dose is therefore 6 tablets, or 6000 mg of collagen hydrolysate. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. One pack contains 30 servings, which last 15 days with recommended use. The food supplement is intended to complement the daily diet and is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
