OstroVit ZMAdvanced is an apple and pear flavoured powdered food supplement combining six ingredients. One serving (3.5 g, i.e. ½ scoop) provides 300 mg of magnesium (80% of the nutrient reference value), 15 mg of zinc (150%), 6 mg of vitamin B6 (429%), 300 mg of D-aspartic acid, 100 mg of KSM-66® ashwagandha root extract (including 5 mg of withanolides) and 1 mg of melatonin. The magnesium comes from three compounds – citrate, lactate and carbonate – and the zinc also from three – gluconate, picolinate and citrate. The package contains 160 g of powder, i.e. 45 servings, which last about one and a half months with regular use.

The beneficial effect is obtained by consuming 1 mg of melatonin close to bedtime. In the case of jet lag, the beneficial effect is obtained with a minimum intake of 0.5 mg to be taken close to bedtime on the first day of travel and on the following few days after arrival at the destination.

What does ZMAdvanced contain?

Magnesium is a mineral found in the body in relatively large amounts and is therefore classified as a macronutrient; in this product it is present as magnesium citrate, magnesium lactate and magnesium carbonate. Zinc is a trace element, present in the product as zinc gluconate, zinc picolinate and zinc citrate. Vitamin B6, or pyridoxine, is a water-soluble B vitamin; in this product it is in the form of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate. D-aspartic acid is an amino acid produced by the body mainly in the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus; in food it is found mainly in animal products and, in small amounts, in asparagus, avocados and oatmeal. Ashwagandha, also known as Indian ginseng, is a plant of the nightshade family; KSM-66® is an extract made exclusively from its roots and standardised to 5% withanolides. Melatonin is a hormone that occurs naturally in the body, produced by the pineal gland, and its production increases in darkness.

How to use?

Dissolve 1 serving (3.5 g, i.e. ½ scoop) in 100 ml of water or juice and drink one serving a day. Use the measuring scoop included in the package. One serving is also the recommended daily dose, which must not be exceeded. As the daily dose contains 300 mg of magnesium, consult a doctor or pharmacist before long-term use. If you take other food supplements containing magnesium, zinc, vitamin B6, ashwagandha or melatonin at the same time, take their amounts into account as well. A 160 g package lasts for 45 days.
