Applied Nutrition Prostate Support is a mixed berry flavoured food supplement in powder form that you mix with water into a drink. One daily dose – one scoop (10 g) – contains ten vitamins, zinc and selenium, plus pumpkin seed powder, dandelion root, nettle leaf, saw palmetto, turmeric and lycopene extracts and coenzyme Q10. As it is a powder, there are no tablets or capsules to swallow: the dose is simply mixed with cold water. The tub holds 300 g of powder, i.e. 30 daily doses, which lasts about a month. The manufacturer and brand owner is Applied Nutrition; according to the EU label, the country of origin is the United Kingdom.

Vitamins and minerals per daily dose

One scoop (10 g) provides 80 mg vitamin C, 5 µg vitamin D3, 1.10 mg thiamine, 1.40 mg riboflavin, 16 mg niacin, 1.40 mg vitamin B6, 200 µg folic acid, 2.50 µg vitamin B12, 75 µg biotin and 6 mg pantothenic acid. In terms of minerals, the daily dose contains 14 mg zinc as zinc bisglycinate and 55 µg selenium as L-selenomethionine. Most of the vitamins and selenium are present at 100% of the nutrient reference intake (NRV), biotin at 150% and zinc at 140% of the NRV.

Botanical ingredients and flavour

In addition to vitamins and minerals, the powder contains pumpkin seed powder, 4:1 dandelion root and nettle leaf extracts, saw palmetto extract, turmeric extract standardised to 5% curcuminoids and 10% lycopene extract. We describe these ingredients only according to the composition and amounts stated on the EU label. The mixed berry taste comes from flavouring and the sweetener sucralose, and the reddish colour from beetroot red. The bulk of the powder consists of maltodextrin and inulin, with added citric acid and an anti-caking agent. There are no allergens among the ingredients, but the product may contain milk, soy, eggs, fish, celery and cereals containing gluten.
