The Osavi product uses Liposovit®-Melatonin, in which melatonin molecules are encapsulated within liposomes formed from sunflower lecithin phospholipids. This dry-form liposomal technology improves bioavailability and makes the product gentler on the digestive tract.

The EU permits two health claims for melatonin when the daily dose is at least 1 mg: melatonin contributes to the alleviation of subjective feelings of jet lag, and melatonin contributes to the reduction of time taken to fall asleep. The manufacturer recommends taking 1 capsule approximately 30 minutes before bedtime, with a glass of water.
