Amix Monster BEEF 90% Protein is a powdered food supplement based on enzymatically hydrolysed beef protein isolate. According to the manufacturer, the protein content is 90% on a dry basis, which means 29.7 g of protein in one 33 g serving. In addition to protein, the blend contains 2508 mg of creatine monohydrate, the Amix amino acid blend Nitro Shot Complex (L-arginine, L-citrulline and beta-alanine), L-tryptophan and PhosphoMatrix, a phosphate blend that provides the calcium, potassium and phosphorus in the product. The product contains very little fat and carbohydrate: less than 0.4 g of fat and less than 0.6 g of carbohydrate per serving, of which sugars are less than 0.1 g. The product is sweetened with sweeteners. A 1000 g pack provides about 30 servings.

Beef protein is an animal protein that is not made from milk. According to the typical amino acid profile given by the manufacturer, 100 g of hydrolysed beef protein contains, among others, 21,200 mg of glycine, 11,300 mg of proline, 10,700 mg of glutamine and a total of 8600 mg of branched-chain amino acids (leucine, isoleucine and valine). How to use?

Mix one serving, i.e. 33 g (1 scoop) of powder, with 200–300 ml of cold water or low-fat milk. A shaker or blender gives the smoothest drink – mix for about 30 seconds. You can adjust the intensity of flavour and sweetness with the amount of water: less water makes a more flavourful drink, more water a lighter one. The manufacturer recommends 1–3 servings a day, depending on how much protein you need during the day. When choosing the daily amount, also take into account the protein you get from food. When prepared with milk, the energy and nutrients of the milk are added and the drink then contains milk.

Flavours and ingredients

Four flavours are available at Sportlab: Chocolate, Strawberry-Banana, Forest Fruits and Vanilla-Lime. The basic composition is the same in all flavours and the differences are small: the chocolate flavour contains cocoa powder, while the strawberry-banana and forest fruits flavours contain beetroot juice. The product is sweetened with sucralose and acesulfame K. Soy lecithin is used as an emulsifier, so the product is not suitable for people with a soy allergy.
