Applied Nutrition TRT – drink powder with D-aspartic acid, vitamins, minerals and botanical extracts

Applied Nutrition TRT is a food supplement in powder form that you mix with water into a drink. One daily dose – one scoop (10 g) – contains 3200 mg of D-aspartic acid, ten vitamins, magnesium and zinc, plus maca root, shilajit, ashwagandha root, Tribulus terrestris, broccoli sprout and Irish sea moss extracts and Himalayan pink salt. As it is a powder, there are no tablets or capsules to swallow: the dose is mixed with cold water. Sportlab sells two flavours, Lemon & Lime and Orange Burst. The tub holds 300 g of powder, i.e. 30 daily doses. The manufacturer and brand owner is Applied Nutrition; according to the EU label, the country of origin is the United Kingdom.

Vitamins and minerals

One scoop (10 g) provides 80 mg vitamin C, 5 µg vitamin D3, 1.10 mg thiamine, 1.40 mg riboflavin, 16 mg niacin, 1.40 mg vitamin B6, 200 µg folic acid, 2 µg vitamin B12, 200 µg biotin and 6 mg pantothenic acid. In terms of minerals, the daily dose contains 104 mg magnesium as citrate and bisglycinate and 12 mg zinc as bisglycinate. The product is a source of vitamin C, vitamin D, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, biotin, magnesium and zinc.

How to use?

Mix one scoop (10 g) of powder with 250–500 ml of cold water, stir or shake until smooth and drink. Take one serving daily. The scoop gives an approximate amount, so the manufacturer recommends weighing the powder for a more accurate dose.

D-aspartic acid and botanical extracts

D-aspartic acid is the D-form of the amino acid aspartic acid. The botanical ingredients in the powder are maca root and ashwagandha root extracts (ratio 10:1), shilajit extract (20:1), Tribulus terrestris extract, broccoli sprout extract containing sulforaphane and Irish sea moss extract (15:1). The ratio shows how many grams of raw material were used to make one gram of extract. We describe these ingredients only according to the composition and amounts stated on the EU label. The lemon-lime and orange tastes come from flavouring and the sweetener sucralose, and the yellowish colour from curcumin and carotenes. The powder also contains citric acid, maltodextrin, potassium and sodium citrates and an anti-caking agent. There are no allergens among the ingredients; according to the Lemon & Lime label, the product may contain milk, soy, eggs, fish, celery and cereals containing gluten.
