Scitec Nutrition BCAA Xpress – flavoured BCAA drink in a 2:1:1 ratio

Scitec Nutrition BCAA Xpress is a flavoured drink powder containing branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) – leucine, isoleucine and valine – in a 2:1:1 ratio. One 7 g serving provides 5 g of BCAAs: 2500 mg of L-leucine and 1250 mg each of L-isoleucine and L-valine. The pack contains 280 g of powder, i.e. 40 servings. Six flavours are available: apple, cola-lime, mango, melon, pear and pink lemonade. To make the drink, simply mix the powder with water. Scitec Nutrition is a Hungarian manufacturer of sports nutrition and food supplements.

Branched-chain amino acids

Leucine, isoleucine and valine belong to the group of branched-chain amino acids, or BCAAs. They are three of the nine essential amino acids: the body cannot produce them itself, so they must be obtained from food – for example from protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, eggs, dairy products and legumes – or from food supplements. In BCAA Xpress these amino acids are in a 2:1:1 ratio, meaning there is twice as much leucine as isoleucine and valine. Many people find unflavoured BCAA powder bitter, which is why BCAA Xpress is flavoured and sweetened to give the drink a pleasant taste.

How to use?

Mix one serving (7 g = ¾ scoop) of BCAA Xpress powder with 300 ml of water and drink immediately. You can drink it before, during or after training or between meals. The daily amount stated by the manufacturer is one 7 g serving. Do not exceed the recommended daily amount. With daily use, one pack lasts 40 days.

BCAA Xpress is suitable for adults who train regularly and wish to supplement their diet with branched-chain amino acids in the form of a convenient flavoured drink. It is especially suitable for those who dislike the bitter taste of unflavoured BCAA powder. All flavours contain sweeteners. The mango and melon flavours contain the colour Sunset Yellow FCF (E110), which may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children. The apple flavour contains malt extract from barley and is therefore not suitable for people sensitive to gluten.
