AmixPro® Creatine HCl – creatine hydrochloride in capsules

AmixPro® Creatine HCl is a food supplement containing creatine hydrochloride in vegetable capsules. Four capsules contain 3000 mg creatine hydrochloride. The container holds 120 capsules, or 30 servings of four capsules. The manufacturer intends the product mainly for athletes who train at high intensity.

The capsule is made of plant-based hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and coloured with calcium carbonate. Besides the active ingredient, the formula contains only microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide. It contains no sugar, sweeteners or flavourings.

What is creatine hydrochloride?

Creatine is a compound found naturally in the body and also obtained from food, mainly from meat and fish. The body produces creatine from the amino acids arginine, glycine and methionine, and most of it is stored in the muscles. The most common form in food supplements is creatine monohydrate. Creatine hydrochloride (creatine HCl) is a salt form of creatine in which creatine is bound to hydrochloric acid. According to the manufacturer, it dissolves in water more readily than regular creatine monohydrate.

Because the hydrochloride makes up part of the molecular weight, 3000 mg creatine hydrochloride corresponds to approximately 2.35 g of creatine. Keep this in mind when comparing the product with creatine monohydrate.

AmixPro® Creatine HCl is suitable for adults who want to take creatine in capsule form. The capsule is plant-based, so the product is also suitable for people who avoid capsules of animal origin. Capsules are convenient when mixing a powder is not possible, for example when travelling or at work. If you use other creatine-containing products at the same time, such as pre-workout powders, take their creatine content into account as well. The dose is flexible: the manufacturer recommends 2–4 capsules a day, so you can start with a smaller amount. The product is not designed for children and must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The manufacturer recommends consulting a doctor or another healthcare practitioner before use.

One capsule contains 750 mg creatine hydrochloride. With a daily dose of four capsules one container lasts 30 days, with two capsules 60 days. On training days take 2–4 capsules with a glass of water, preferably 60 minutes before training; on non-training days take 2–4 capsules during the day. Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, away from sunlight.
