Animal Greens – 30 daily packs with greens, vegetables and plant extracts

Animal Greens is a food supplement from the Animal line by Universal Nutrition, with each daily dose packed in a separate pack. The box contains 30 packs and one pack is one daily dose, so one box lasts 30 days. The pack contains capsules and tablets that together provide a 3.5 g greens blend (wheat grass, spirulina, chlorella, alfalfa, kale and astragalus root), a complex of plant ingredients, the Spectra® blend of 28 fruit, berry, vegetable and herb extracts and concentrates, as well as inulin, ginger and enzymes.

Unlike greens sold as a powder, Animal Greens does not need to be mixed with water or juice – the pack is simply taken with a meal. One pack provides 10 kcal, 210 mg of calcium and 160 mg of phosphorus. The product is made in the USA in a cGMP and HACCP certified facility.

Composition per pack

All amounts are given per pack, i.e. per daily dose, according to the manufacturer's label. The ingredients are divided into three groups, and the product also contains two minerals.

• Greens blend – wheat grass (leaf) 1000 mg, Spirulina platensis 1000 mg, Chlorella spp. 500 mg, alfalfa (herb) 500 mg, kale (leaf) 250 mg, astragalus (root) 250 mg
• Plant ingredient complex – beet root 250 mg, citrus bioflavonoids (peel) 200 mg, goji berry (Lycium barbarum) 100 mg, maca root extract 50 mg, grape seed extract 50 mg, pine bark extract 50 mg, Ginkgo biloba (leaf) 50 mg, Spectra® 100 mg, lutein (from marigold flower, Tagetes erecta) 50 µg, lycopene 100 µg
• Inulin, ginger and enzymes – inulin 500 mg, ginger (root) 240 mg, bromelain 100 mg, papain 100 mg, VegPeptase 2000™ (acid protease) 50 mg, lipase 10 mg
• Minerals – calcium 210 mg (26% NRV), phosphorus 160 mg (23% NRV)

Ingredients in more detail

Wheat grass consists of the young leaves of the wheat plant, harvested before the grain forms. Spirulina is a blue-green alga (cyanobacterium) that grows in alkaline lakes, and chlorella is a single-celled freshwater green alga. Alfalfa is a leguminous forage plant and kale is a leafy vegetable of the cabbage family. Astragalus is also a leguminous plant – its root is used in this product.

The plant ingredient complex contains beetroot, bioflavonoids from citrus peel, goji berries, extract of maca root, which grows in the South American Andes, grape seed and pine bark extracts, and ginkgo leaves. Spectra® is a blend by VDF FutureCeuticals that includes, among others, coffee fruit (Coffea arabica) and green tea leaf extracts and concentrates of broccoli, tomato, garlic, turmeric, spinach and many berries. The lutein is obtained from marigold flowers, and lycopene is a red carotenoid found, for example, in tomatoes.

Inulin is a dietary fibre found, for example, in chicory. Bromelain comes from pineapple and papain from papaya; together with VegPeptase 2000™ they are proteases, i.e. enzymes that break down proteins, while lipase breaks down fats.

Calcium and phosphorus

One pack provides 210 mg of calcium (26% of the nutrient reference value) and 160 mg of phosphorus (23% of the nutrient reference value).

How to use?

Take 1 pack a day with any meal. One pack contains the entire daily dose – do not exceed the recommended daily dose. As the product contains green tea extract, it must not be taken on an empty stomach or on the same day as other products containing green tea extract. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle – the manufacturer does not recommend using the product to replace fruit and vegetables.

Who is it for?

Animal Greens is intended for adults aged 18 and over who want to add a food supplement with greens, vegetable and berry extracts to their daily diet without mixing a powder. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition or are taking medication, consult a doctor before use. The product contains wheat (wheat grass), and according to the manufacturer it has not been tested for gluten.

The product is made in a facility where milk, soy, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, wheat and sesame are also processed on the same equipment. Keep the box in a cool, dry place, protected from heat, moisture and sunlight, and out of reach of children. The best before date and lot number are printed on the packaging.
