OstroVit Omega 3-6-9 – omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids and vitamin E in capsules

OstroVit Omega 3-6-9 is a food supplement combining three oils – fish oil, flaxseed oil and sunflower seed oil – with vitamin E. One serving of two capsules provides 144 mg eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), 96 mg docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and 300 mg alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which are omega-3 fatty acids. The serving also contains a total of 380 mg of the omega-6 fatty acid linoleic acid (LA), 207 mg of the omega-9 fatty acid oleic acid (OA) and 20 mg vitamin E, which is 167% of the nutrient reference value. The pack contains 180 capsules, or 90 daily doses, which last three months with regular use. It is made by the Polish company OstroVit.

Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

What are omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids?

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that the body cannot produce itself, so they must be obtained from the diet. Alpha-linolenic acid is found mainly in flaxseed oil, while the main source of EPA and DHA is oily sea fish. The fish oil in this product comes from Peruvian anchovies. Linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid, is also an essential fatty acid and a component of cell membranes. In this product it comes from sunflower and flaxseed oil, but it is also found in other vegetable oils, such as grapeseed oil. Oleic acid, a representative of the omega-9 fatty acids, is an unsaturated fatty acid whose main dietary source is olive oil; it is also found in rapeseed, hazelnut, sunflower and flaxseed oil. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin whose main dietary sources are vegetable oils, nuts and seeds.

How to use?

Take one serving, i.e. 2 capsules, a day, preferably after a meal, and swallow with a sufficient amount of water. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. If you use other food supplements containing fish oil, omega fatty acids or vitamin E at the same time, take their amounts into account too. Who is it for?

The product is suitable for adults who want to supplement their daily diet with omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids and vitamin E, for example people whose diet contains little oily fish and vegetable oils. The soft capsules are easy to swallow. As the product contains fish oil, it is not suitable for people allergic to fish or for vegetarians. Ingredients and storage

The capsules contain fish oil from Peruvian anchovies, flaxseed oil, sunflower seed oil and vitamin E as DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate. The capsule shell is made of gelatine, the humectant glycerol and water. The net weight of the capsules in the pack is 234 g. Due to its high fish oil content, the product has a fishy smell. Store in a dry place at 15–25 °C in a tightly closed container, away from direct sunlight.
