Applied Nutrition ABE – pre-workout powder with caffeine and creatine
Applied Nutrition ABE (All Black Everything) is a pre-workout food supplement in powder form, made in the United Kingdom. One serving (1 heaped scoop or 12.5 g) contains 4 g of citrulline malate (2:1), 3 g of creatine monohydrate, 2,000 mg of beta-alanine, 400 mg of taurine, 250 mg of choline bitartrate, 200 mg of caffeine and two B vitamins – 50 mg of niacin and 100 µg of vitamin B12. The powder is mixed with cold water and drunk about 15 minutes before training. A 375 g tub contains 30 servings. The product is sweetened with sucralose and is sold in several flavours whose composition differs mainly in flavourings and colours.
What does one serving contain?
Citrulline malate is a compound of the amino acid L-citrulline and malic acid in a 2:1 ratio – there are 4 g per serving. Creatine monohydrate is the most common supplement form of creatine, with 3 g per serving. There are 2,000 mg of beta-alanine and 400 mg of taurine. Choline is added as choline bitartrate (VitaCholine trademark): 250 mg of choline bitartrate provides 101 mg of choline. Caffeine is added as caffeine anhydrous, 200 mg per serving. Niacin is added as niacinamide (313% of the nutrient reference value) and vitamin B12 as cyanocobalamin (4000% NRV). The remaining ingredients – citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, anti-caking agents, sweetener, flavourings and colours – give the drink its taste and keep the powder free-flowing.

Who is it for?
ABE is intended for healthy adults who train regularly and tolerate caffeine well. The manufacturer recommends that new users take half a scoop for the first seven days to get used to the product and the caffeine. As one serving contains 200 mg of caffeine, take other sources of caffeine such as coffee, tea and energy drinks into account, and do not take more than one serving a day. The product is not recommended for children, pregnant women or persons sensitive to caffeine. If you are under 18, breastfeeding, have a medical condition or take medication, consult a doctor or another healthcare professional before use.

How to use
Mix 1 heaped scoop (12.5 g) with 250 ml of cold water and consume 15 minutes prior to exercise. New users: use half a scoop for the first 7 days. Do not exceed one serving daily. Scoops are an estimate only; weighing scales are recommended.
