OstroVit L-Theanine VEGE is a vegan food supplement containing L-theanine and inulin. One capsule provides 200 mg of L-theanine obtained from green tea leaf extract; because of its green tea origin, it also contains 2 mg of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). The capsule shell is plant-based, made of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. The package contains 90 easy-to-swallow capsules, i.e. 90 daily doses, which last three months when taking one capsule a day.

What are L-theanine and inulin?

L-theanine is an organic compound belonging to the non-protein amino acids – meaning that the body does not use it to build proteins. Chemically, L-theanine is a derivative of glutamine. It occurs naturally in the L-form in the leaves of the tea plant, which makes green tea one of its main dietary sources; L-theanine also gives tea its characteristic umami taste. Inulin is a plant-derived polysaccharide consisting of a long unbranched chain of more than 30 sugar units. In plants, inulin serves as a storage carbohydrate. Inulin is not digested in the upper digestive tract and reaches the large intestine largely unchanged, where it is fermented by gut bacteria. In food, inulin is used as a source of dietary fibre.

How to use?

Take 1 capsule a day with a meal. The product must not be taken on an empty stomach or on the same day as other products containing green tea. One capsule is also the recommended daily dose, which must not be exceeded. Do not consume 800 mg or more of EGCG per day – the daily dose of this product contains 2 mg. 90 capsules last for three months.
