What is creatine monohydrate?

Creatine is a nitrogen-containing organic compound that the body produces itself from the amino acids arginine, glycine and methionine. We also obtain creatine from food, mainly meat and fish, which is why vegetarian diets usually contain less of it. Creatine monohydrate is the form of creatine in which each molecule is bound to one water molecule. It is the most common form of creatine in food supplements. The white, odourless and tasteless powder is mixed with water or juice before drinking.

How to use?

Mix 3/4 scoop (3 g) of powder with 200–300 ml of water or juice and drink immediately. The manufacturer recommends using the product approx. 30–60 minutes before training. Athletes using creatine monohydrate are advised by the manufacturer to drink at least 2000 ml of water daily. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. If you use other products containing creatine at the same time, take their amounts into account too.
