OstroVit Creatine Monohydrate is a powdered food supplement whose active ingredient is creatine monohydrate. It is available unflavoured and in seven flavours: orange, cherry, cola, green apple, lemon, mango and watermelon. The unflavoured variant consists of creatine monohydrate only, while the flavoured variants also contain citric acid, flavouring and sweeteners (sucralose and acesulfame K), but no added sugar. A serving of the unflavoured powder (3.4 g) provides 3400 mg of creatine monohydrate, of which 3000 mg is creatine. A serving of the flavoured powder (3 g) provides 2600 mg of creatine monohydrate, of which 2288 mg is creatine. The 1000 g container holds 333 servings of the flavoured powder or 294 servings of the unflavoured powder. The product is made by the Polish food supplement manufacturer OstroVit.

What is creatine monohydrate?

Creatine is a compound that occurs naturally in the human body. It is also obtained from the everyday diet, mainly from animal foods such as meat, fish and eggs, and from food supplements. Creatine monohydrate is a form of creatine in which one water molecule is bound to each creatine molecule. Structurally it is the simplest form of creatine and also the most common one in food supplements. Because part of the mass of creatine monohydrate is water, the nutrition information shows both the amount of creatine monohydrate and the amount of creatine that a serving actually provides.

How to use?

Mix one serving with 100–150 ml of water or juice. A serving of the flavoured powder is 3 g (3/4 scoop), a serving of the unflavoured powder 3.4 g (3/4 scoop). On training days take one serving a day, either after waking up or after training. On non-training days take one serving after waking up. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. If you use other products containing creatine at the same time, take their amounts into account too.
