What is BioTechUSA 100% Pure Whey?

BioTechUSA 100% Pure Whey is a whey protein powder whose protein comes from a blend of whey protein concentrate and isolate. One serving (28 g, i.e. 2 heaped tablespoons) provides 21 g of protein and only 106–108 kcal, depending on the flavour. The recipe is enriched with L-glutamine, L-arginine and branched-chain amino acids (L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-valine); the chocolate flavour also contains bromelain powder. The product is gluten-free according to EU regulation and, prepared with water, low in sugar (less than 2.5 g of sugar per 100 ml).

The 3000 g pack is made for regular training: it lasts for 107 servings, i.e. about two months at two servings a day. Protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass and to the maintenance of normal bones.

The large pack suits those who use protein powder every day. The product contains milk and soy (lecithins) – it is not suitable for people with a milk protein allergy or lactose intolerance.

How to use it?

On training days the manufacturer recommends one serving within 45 minutes after training and a second serving between meals; on rest days, one serving in the morning and one in the evening. Exact dosing is given in the directions.

Nutrition and amino acids in detail

100 g of powder contains 73–76 g of protein, 6.4–6.5 g of fat, 4.9–6.1 g of carbohydrate and 0.83–1.1 g of salt, depending on the flavour. One 28 g serving provides on average 9.1–9.3 g of essential amino acids (histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, valine), 7.3–7.7 g of conditionally essential amino acids (arginine, cysteine, glutamine, proline, tyrosine) and 4.2–4.4 g of non-essential amino acids; BCAAs, i.e. branched-chain amino acids, total 4.3–4.4 g per serving. The powder is mixed with 250 ml of water in a shaker; prepared this way the sugar content stays below 2.5 g per 100 ml. For a creamier drink you can use milk or a plant-based drink instead of water, but this changes the nutritional values. The Bourbon Vanilla flavour contains the colour tartrazine, so this flavour is not recommended for children; the Chocolate flavour contains no colours.
